Question on Acryllic

I have a wood turner friend of mine who helps me turn down cork and now acrylic.
The sequence that is important to this story is as follows.
1. I glue up the cork at home.
2. I take it to my buddy's house and he turns down the cork for me.
3. I take it back home and ream it for the rod that I'm building.
Everything is hunky dory.
Now enter acrylic into the equation.

Steps 1 and 2 are the same but I'm worried about step 3.
I'm worried that the cork will ream as usual but when my dream reamer hits that acrylic everything will come to a screeching halt.
Can someone advise me on this? What would make this all work?
Thanks very much.
John M.

Hi John,
I've only used acrylic a few times with cork and I was worried about a similar problem so I used a hole saw to cut a hole in it that was slightly bigger than the blank then glued it all up and then reamed reamed the cork. All was then good.

Yes, I think you want to bore the acrylic before mounting it into the cork stack. Take it up just a hair beyond what you know is needed in terms of ID for that specific location where it's going to be mounted on the rod blank.
