I was given the task to repair a loose reel seat on a friend's Zillion casting rod. The rod was purchased used so warranty will not cover the repair costs.
This is an exposed blank/skeleton reel seat. cutting it off and replacing it with a new one is not an option. any suggestions on repairing it without having to remove the threadwork? thanks Re: repairing a loose exposed blank reel seat

How loose is the seat? Just a minor rocking or a full spin?. If a full spin, can it be moved upd the blank as well? if so, clean as much of the old epoxy as possible and re-glue. Chris Richer Iroquois ON Re: repairing a loose exposed blank reel seat

I ended up cutting off the threadwork. the factory prep work was extremely poor. i'll be cleaning it up and re-prepping it before i glue everything back together.
thanks! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
