Glue clean up

I cut up cork with a cork jig then take the pie shaped wedges, glue the sides and cinch them together with one of those plastic tie things.
When I start to cinch it tight, glue starts coming out between the pie pieces. What do you use to clean up the glue?
I'm worried that DNA many change the look of the cork.
Thank you.

Alcohol of any type. It won't change the look of the cork and you're going to sand the outer surface anyway.

Nothing...you are going to turn it down anyway. Let the sandpaper clean it up.

After they are glued up I flatten them on a sanding board (board with adhesive backed sandpaper) so that I have good glue lines when matched with the other pieces of the grip. The out side surfaces I do nothing with as they will either be danded or turned down depending on wether ist is cork or wood.

John,
If you are using tite bond, use water to clean up the glue.

If you have semi hardened epoxy - use Xylene, and plenty of ventilation. Alchol works all right if the epoxy has not kicked at all, but xylene works much better if the epoxy has began to harden.

Be safe
Roger

Just get some cheap paper towels and whip it off
When dry run over a piece of sand paper to even them out - 80 - 150
