Thanks. Intent was to use ultralight single foot RECOIL guides and a woven graphite butt section. Did this on a Lami Black Salt 7' rod and it turned out super lightweight. Guess I'll search around guide spacings for this type of setup. Might look into how they setup steelhead rods in spinning...

That 2 wt may be too light depending on what you want to though most use 3 - 5 wt Bill - willierods.com Re: Mudhole MHX 2 wt blank built ultralight spinning

2 wt should be fine for lures about 1/8 and lighter based on my experience with a 7 1/2 foot 3 wt, which is a really great, easy to cast rod, good hook set - love it.
I don't think there is any magic on guide placement- I would try a Fuji fast reduction setup or at least a 27X setup. The reel I use is a small 50 size Shimano which helps keep the overall weight very light. You will be using light line, so the small spools of the small reels will not cause problems. My rod has three reduction guides with micros to the end. First reduction is a 25, but I'm sure a 20 would work fine as long as it is high enough. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
