G'day Mark

I have a couple of Miller customs that have the type of finish you maybe looking to achieve.Its a type of matt finish no gloss at all.

Bit like the finish they put on surfboards.We used to do a finish coat and then polish.Then they brought out a new product that
was spray on and for the life of me i cant think of the name of it.

If your coming to the next SEARBs meet i can show you the rods.
