Who has a good source for the camo flyrod blanks - specifically in the 4 piece 5 wt range.
thanks for all the help in the past If people spent more time on important things, there would be a shortage of flyrods. Re: looking for camo flyrod blank

Hydroprinters can help you print on any blank you choose, or you can buy kits to do your own, if you can't find any. Many patterns to choose from. Re: looking for camo flyrod blank

Not likely you will find a camo fly rod blank. Fly fishermen are quite traditional and do not go for the a lot of bling and unusual rod colors. Re: looking for camo flyrod blank

Phil - some flyfishers are less traditional than others - the rod will be for a veteran in Project Healing waters.
Nice comment though - however, not helpful. If people spent more time on important things, there would be a shortage of flyrods. Re: looking for camo flyrod blank

Hydrographics. Find someone in your area and get a quote. Should be under $50 to get it done. Re: looking for camo flyrod blank

if you get it hydro printed pick a pattern that will show on a small diameter blank. some of the leaf or simliar patterns just will not show on a small diameter blank. i would go with just a color pattern. i think it would have a better effect Re: looking for camo flyrod blank

Jim, I was trying to be helpful. Spending time looking for something that is not available is a waste of time. I have also built fly rods for PHW, mostly we added military insignia decals or special inscriptions. Re: looking for camo flyrod blank

Hello Jay - I am in the Denver area - Thanks much for your response - here is my situation:
I am quite involved with the Denver Project Healing Waters flyfishing activities. Among other things, each year I build and donate a flyrod for the annual fund raising raffle. It is displayed at many fishing shows locally and several tickets are sold. lots of $$$ are donated. This year, I built a 4 piece 9 ft 5 wt flyrod from a camo blank I have had for several years. Now, somehow, the flyrod is missing and has not been found. I need to build another similar flyrod and find that camo flyrod blanks are hard to come by. Any help is most appreciated If people spent more time on important things, there would be a shortage of flyrods. Re: looking for camo flyrod blank

Galley Graphics is over in Littleton.
Precision Dipping is in Fort Collins. The above folks do hydrographic printing. Kolorfusion Internatinoal is in Denver and they do dye sublimation. I don't think that process will work on rod blanks because of the temperatures required, but they may be able to help you anyway. Best of luck. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
