I went over to Chuck's Fly Fishing Show this weekend primarily because he chose roughly the same floor plan for his event that we'll be using for the Expo. It gave me a chance to see how the traffic patterns on the floor work. Overall it seemed fine, but there were a couple of very crowded areas that I've changed up in order to rectify those gridlocked areas.

Beyond that, we went over the layout for the RodMaker Reception. One reminder - this is a stand up event. There is no provision to seat everyone. There will be a handful of tables and chairs but please reserve those for the aged or infirm. Otherwise, it's a huge ballroom. Very nice and comfortable.

The downtown locale of the convention center is bloated with hotels, restaurants, galleries, clubs, etc. The eateries run the gamut from submarine sandwich shops to 5-star gourmet restaurants. If you're capable of walking 2 to 6 blocks, you won't need to take your car out. And, of course, there are several very nice restaurants in the host hotels.

I expect a fantastic turn out and another record setting event. See you in a little less than two weeks.

If I remember correct from the time I visited the Convention Center, there is a parking garage directly across the street that has a bridge/walkway connecting the two. Tom can probably confirm if this is correct as it's been about 5 years since my last visit.

I'm not aware of any overland walkway - but if you use the deck at the Embassy Suites, then you can walk through the hotel and then underground through the access tunnel into the center.

Otherwise there is a deck on Cherry Street just across from the center. You have to cross a side street, that's about it.

The walkway shows on Google Maps. It's very convenient. The parking deck is on the corner of Cherry & 6th.
