My old favorite Pacific Bay-Versitex IGF series 9ft-4wt rod was damaged beyond repair, so I need to build a replacement but those blanks don't exist anymore.
Prefer an ERN around 3.5 to 4.5 and AA 58-61. I see Anglers Workshop has burgundy IM6 blanks as well as their medium action Chalkstream Light. Any experience with these? Any suggestions for a close match? Or something that's a close match to the old Scott G series ? Thanks Bob Re: Med-Slow Fly Rod Blank

Thanks Ladd, I have a few Rainshadows, including the IF903 used with a DT5 but they feel rather anesthetized in comparison. Re: Med-Slow Fly Rod Blank

The Anglers workshop blanks are the closest you will get to that PB IGF blank you have and are USA made. Great people to deal with as well. Re: Med-Slow Fly Rod Blank

I was told by one of the people on the counter at angler's workshop that talon builds the blanks for angler's workshop. Re: Med-Slow Fly Rod Blank

Bob, you might want to give Versitex a call, they may still have that blank in stock. Re: Med-Slow Fly Rod Blank

You might wish to consider a blank out of the CTS custom program.
I currently have an order pending which would save you the $50 NZ shipping bill. Herb Note: I am an agent for CTS. Re: Med-Slow Fly Rod Blank

I built a 4pc RX7 9' 5wt a year ago, it measured out at 4.9 and 60, so pretty consistant with the other RX7 blanks. Re: Med-Slow Fly Rod Blank

Thanks for everyones input. I have decided the Chalkstream Light blanks would be the logical choice.
I'll report once it's completed. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
