How to (video or pics) color fade?

Can anyone point me at a step-by-strp "how to" (preferably pics or video) that will teach me how to do a color fade?
I've seen thread guides that explain the pattern (i.e. 11-1, then 9-2, then 7-4, etc.) but I'm having difficulty visualizing how to handle the two threads as I rotate the blank such that I'm laying down one color versus the other while the blank rotates.

Basically...I'f I just layed down 11 brk-blu to 1 lgt-blu, how do I then lay down 9-2 ?
How do I keep the lgt-blu from wrapping while the drk-blu is wrapping?

I use a flex-coat hand-wrapper if that helps.

Thanks in advance for any assist you can provide.

We did an article on this RodMaker many years ago, complete with photos. If you don't get the instructions you need by internet, I'd be happy to point you to the volume and issue number of the magazine containing that article.

Hi Tom:

Unfortunately, no help yet. Raymond's article was not quite what I am asking.
If the Rodbuilder article is still available, I'd be most appreciative.

To restate my question...

I've seen wrapping guides for a fade wrap that state the thread pattern used to achieve the desired effect (i.e. 1-1, 2-9, etc.)
While the basic concept is clear, I'm having difficulty visualizing the logistics of how I keep two spools of thread in play at the same time without both winding around the blank as I turn it.

In other words...if I lay down 1 wind of dark-blue thread, and then 11 winds of light-blue thread...what is the dark-blue thread doing during those 11 winds?

I was hoping there would be some article with pictures, or a video that would explain it to me.

I use a flex-coat manual rod wrapper lathe (in case it has anything to do with method)

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

-Dan-
