I made a pink rod for a female coworker of mine,. The blank came from Mudhole. (Note: I buy predominatly from Mudhole and they have been outstanding in everyway). The blank lost all its pink color within a year, turning completely white. Has anyone had a similar color change on a special color blank? Re: Pink Blank turns white

I had one of these blanks near a window for display cuz it turned out so purty. Noticed after a year without moving it that the sunny side was not very pink.. well on the way to all white. But I chalk that up to being my fault for not seeing it coming. Pesco Ergo Sum Re: Pink Blank turns white

Pinks and fluorescent colors will turn white. This is why I would never paint a blank Pink or any fluoresent color it's nothing but setting yourself up for trouble. About the only thing Mudhole or who ever can do is replace the blank but.. It will fade to white again!! Nature of the beast!! Re: Pink Blank turns white

I purchased and built a pink blank from mudhole for the wife about 2 yrs. ago. I have noticed a slight fading in the upper third of the blank, not white yet just fading. I have no complaints about the performance of the rod itself. The wife has put it to the test of nature and then some. This was my first actual new rod build at the time. Just enjoy the rod and the fun it brings. Kern Davis, Lady Lake Fl. Re: Pink Blank turns white

I have two of the pink Mud Hole blanks out there and haven't seen the fading yet.

Years ago I did a custom drum set for guy and it was black with Flouro pink flames. Not sure how he stored it but the one side of the kit the flames faded away to an almost white. Also painted a Mercury Capri 5.0 a hot pink it took two years but it was almost all white, The owner knew this would happen!! The thing is these paints were auto paints and Clear coat used to give them the gloss. so in a short answer, No clear won't help!! Re: Pink Blank turns white
