SPIRAL WRAP ?

When doing a spiral wrap the guide that brings the line from top side tothe bottom side times called a BUMPER GUIDE, [ i think ] is it this a added guide or is it just one of the regular guides that is rotated to the side ? need a little help Bill Re: SPIRAL WRAP ?

On the Simple Spiral, the guides do not take the line to the bottom of the rod, they simply allow it to go there naturally.
The Bumper guide is an additional guide placed where the line would otherwise rub the side of the rod between the first two guides. ................ Re: SPIRAL WRAP ?

The way I do it is put the top on
Then space the runners on Then with either the reel on or feet from an old reel cut off and the height of the spool line attached to it - run line from the reel to the top with some weight on Space out the butt and bumper and any other with two foot guides And let the line tell me where the guides go Straightest line possible Even bending a runner guide so the ring is as close to the blank as possible Put pressure on the blank adjust guides so the line will lay on the bottom of the guide rings closest to the blank Bill - willierods.com Re: SPIRAL WRAP ?
