Wrapping Micros - does power wrap make much difference?

Micros with their short feet does not take that many turns to fully wrap.

Is there much advantage to using a power wrapper to wrap micros? I've been using the Sully's manual wrapper.

Thanks,
Mo

ps: By the way, Sully Wrapper is good. Any other manual wrapper that's considered to be among the best? I realize this is a different question from the heading but figure some may know.

I use both but I find using a manual wrapper the best way to rap those Micro Guides as Micro's are just that a pain to wrap no mater how it is done but a power wrapper will make it worse.

I wrap mine on a power wrapper bed & stand but turn by hand. You could probably do it by using the motor but I like my chances of not screwing up doing it this way.

I wrap all guides manually. Dont see the advantage of power wrapper unless its a long wrap.

Only thing a power wrapper offers over hand is it flings the guide further if it comes out.

Not really an advantage, but I use a power wrapper even on the micros (though at a slower speed) until I get to the guide ring.

I wrap everything by hand. I use a Sully and wouldn't have it any other way.

There is another hand wrapper that some folks have given above average reviews on ... the EcoWrapper.

You will MIGHT get a chance to see it in action at the Expo. Clyde has been there previously, but I still don't see his name on the exhibitor list for 2012.

Mo,
Folks wrap by hand.
Folks wrap with the help of a power wrapper.

Use the method with which you are most comfortable.

If you have a "good" power wrapper, there is no reason to not to use the power wrapper when wrapping all guides.

Part of the reason that some folks resist using their power wrapper to wrap guides is that it doesn't mee the definition of a good power wrapper. I think that a key part of a good wrapper is to be able to wrap easily in either direction and to be able to wrap at a fraction of an rpm. Many wrappers can not wrap in both directions, and many wrappers can not wrap at sub 1 rpm speeds.

Take care
Roger
