will build a matt clear (gray) blank and want something different in color. looking at tan with goldenrod trim or the other way around .will this be too bright or gaudy?any other suggestions on color combinations.

1. Beauty is in the eye of.... well, you know. Don't let anybody tell you what's too bright. If you like bright, wrap it. That's what test dowels are for.

2. Goldenrod IMO, is best for trim and inlays, but that's just me. The tan is fine, but it's hard, if you do any inlays or have metallic trim pinned under, to keep color from bleeding through. I've done some wraps recently that have tan underwraps and inlays with kelly green wraps and Old Gold metallic trim bands that I think look really good. They are too bright for the tiny-little-brown-wraps conservative crowd. (Nothing wrong with tiny-little-brown-wraps, if that's your bag.)

Goldenrod also looks good with out CP using regular nylon You will be able to see the guide feet
