Fisheye/Removal?

Yes sir, I just had to straighten a rod of mine out. It was a tournament rod so as long as it cast an empty hook and brought back a fish, it served it's purpose.

Sand it down, wipe it clean and then refinish it, you'll never know the difference.

You shouldn't have to "sand it off". Scuff the wrap and makes sure you get down into the fisheye. If you try to sand all the epoxy down to the level of the bottom of the eye you risk hitting thread. Just scuff good, wipe with DNA and recoat, the additional coat will fill the eye.
