Hi,

I've been told that the 3S63MXF is a little bit more powerfull and is a bit faster than the 4S63MXF and the 5S63MXF...
Does someone can confirm that or have some to compare ?

Thanks,
Pierre

Pierre,
If you get the 3C63mxf that is for sure. The casting version of this blank is an extremely fast blank. The casting version, I believe is faster than either the 4 or the 5.
I am not sure about the spinning version however.

But, because of that fact, I have built quite a few of the Casting version of this blank in a spinning format and the blank performs very well.

If in doubt, stop over to a store that carries St. Croix and check out the production rods that are on the rack.

Take care
Roger

p.s.
I do think that for the price, that the SC3 blank represent an excellent value. Lots of excellent actions, pretty good sensitivity and power and just generally catch a lot of fish.

Yes, for some applications the SC4 and 5 can do the job a bit better, but the SC3 blanks are certainly no slouch. As a matter of fact, I just finished taping guides on the ML version of this same SC3 blank that will ship on Wed. This ML version that I am doing right now, has a very fast tip as well.

Roger,

I beleive there is no 3C63MXF, but a 3C62MXF that is a little bit more powerfull on the paper.
I didn't notice there was a casting version, so thank you for pointing that.
Anyway, the numbers I have show the spinning is faster, and less powerfull too.

Here in France, St Croix rods are quite rare so I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,
Pierre
