Mike I have been building ramps now about 2 years now and have had no failures at all the ramps stand up exelent.
The first rod i built with a ramp was a halibut rod for myselfe and that rod has cought atleast 50 halibut nt that time including a 245# and no problums. I use pro=bond Re: but ramp

In no way can an epoxy ramp undermine the integrity of any rod. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: but ramp

I have built them from epoxy, cork, eva and corktape. The epoxy or rod bond is IMO the best result and like Herman I have never had a problem with either.

I have been making my ramps by wrapping the same as anything else. Sometimes I stop after a few layers and apply CP just to keep the thread from falling down the ramp. Works great.... been doing it for about 5 years now with good results. I hardly ever buy hosels anymore. I just wrap a ramp.... it works. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
