Guide spacing on spiral wrap

On a spiral wrap, or a spinning rod for that matter, is there ever a need to have guides closer than 4" apart? I'm willing to do it if I need to, but I also see no reason to add unneeded weight.

Maybe on the guide first behind the tiptop, but other than that, probably not.

If you're using a Revolver type spiral, you may wish to have the transition guides that close.

Marty, runs some static test, it's the most acurate way. Takes a little extra time but well worht the effort
