From the Mudhole site:
F663?3?MHX 3 6'6" 3 21 2.08 60 I guess that makes sense for the short distances such a rod would be used at-a shorter section of a 3 wt line, would load the rod enough to cast, or a 30 foot section of a 2 wt line would load it properly at more distance. New to this, but that CCS info is interesting. Drew Re: CCS numbers ??

I should have scrolled down more ?? Your right about the 2.08. More like a 2 wt for more distance

With an ERN of 2.08, you'd have a perfect rod for a 3-weight line for easy loading at short to medium distances. I doubt most folks use 3-weight lines for casting 75 to 100 feet.

I thought that the ERN had to be say on this one about near 2.50 and below 3.50 to indecate a 3 And a ERN of about 1.50 to below 2.50 to indecate a 2 ?? Like this being below 2.50 yet above 1.50 Bill - willierods.com Re: CCS numbers ??

No. Any rod will cast any line at some distance. The trick is to have the rod's power matched by a line that will easily load the rod at whatever distance range it's likely to be fished. What range does your custom intend to use this rod at? Is he fishing small, closed in streams, or larger open lakes and rivers?

For me I was looking to do a 3 line at about say 40 ft. But also make it a spine cast. Thinking the extra foot of handle and seat attached to the butt would add to the speed of the blank
But also I like a fast casting action when fly fishing. The slow of a medium action does not fit my stile of how I like to cast. Get the line out quick I keep going back to ST Croix or even a lite spin blank I could tape some guides on and play with it But an AA of about 65 + should be more to my liking Got the blank Bill - willierods.com Re: CCS numbers ??

Note sure what you mean by "spine cast."
If you like a fast action, then you need to buy a fast action rod blank. If you're not going to be casting more than about 40 feet maximum, and lining it with a 3-weight line, a blank with an ERN of between 2.5 to 3.0 would be my choice. .................... Re: CCS numbers ??
