This is my second post...so plese be good with me...
I've used for years rainshadow blank (RCLB70L-RCLB70ML-RCLB70M) with great satisfaction. In particular I like their action. But now I'm looking for Super Seeker and Calstar blanks who have the same action. Can you tell me something ..... Thanks guys Re: saltwater blanks help

Cosimo,
The Calstar blanks that are in line with the Batson blanks are the GF700L, ML, M. As far as Seekers goes the are the SLB704, 706, 708. For the dollar though Batson blanks are great. There was a time that Calstar and Seeker blanks were the clear leader. Bill, Mike and the staff at Batson have put alot of hard work and RD into very comparable blanks with the RCLB line. Tight lines, John H. Re: saltwater blanks help

Thanks John!
I didn't find on catalogue the SLB704,706,708 series. Probably you want to say SS-CLBF704,706,708. Can you tell me something more on tip action (soft, medium or hard)? Cosimo. Re: saltwater blanks help

The Calstar tips are much floppier than the Batson, haven't handled those Seekers. The Super Seeker Hercules tips are between the Calstar and Batson, they are soft, but are still powerful, but I don't know about those exact Seeker blanks. The Calstar tips kinda flop out easily. All the tip actions are fast but in comparisson to the Batson blanks as timothy stated a bit floppier. FYI they are SLB. The Fast action live bait series is SLB.

What line class are you looking to fish? On the lighter ends their are other alternatives. I don't see enough difference betweeen the rclb series and the others you mention to warrant the increase in price. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: saltwater blanks help

For 15 pound class you might wish to take a look at a "hot shot" blank. They have a much faster tip, are a little lighter in the tip, and have a much quicker lock up.
I have a 3 power 8'6" rated 12-25 (HS1023F). I have caught small amberjack (bottom fishing), blackfin tuna, and dolphin (while trolling). They are very light in weight, very sensitive, and cast like a dream. Only downside is cost and they aren't as rugged as the rclb's. I really love mine and can't say enough good things about it. The next power up might be wise depending on what you hope to catch and how you will fish. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: saltwater blanks help

Seekr Rods...for Saltwater.....The Super Seeker Series are like no other,,it is made of S-Glass and Graphite....Thus the softer tip action and super strong and tough.....The rods DO NOT bottom out and they do shut off about 1/3 the length from the tip. With this action,,you will always have "lifting" power no matter which rod you selct. The action is similar proportionately as the rod selected get heavier or beefier. I just wish I could demo this to you personally....Maybe next year at High Point if you attend. If you are ever in LA, California,,look me up and I'll be more than happy to take you to the Seeker Rods plant in Longbeach.......Denny 310-9517670 Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
