Guide Sizes

Hi
I am in the process of buying/obtaining guides to build a 9ft 6in #7 two piece fly rod,in the past i have used recoil guides ,however i am thinking of using some single leg snakes,seymo pattern 619 als, but not sur how there sizes work,any help on what sizes i might need would be apreciated. thanks Bryan Re: Guide Sizes

You only need 3 sizes at most - 1-stripper, 1-intermediate, and then about 8 running guides.

If you look at some like say St Croix's site and see what they use. But most usually go larger - to be safe - so I would think a size smaller.
But it would be wise to have a couple of sizes so you can check to make sure your knots pass if needed. The ones you don't use also work good for - hook keepers Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
