Has anyone used Fibatape rather than masking tape for the purpose of building a reel seat arbor? It is a fiberglass drywall joint tape. It is not a solid tape, but rather consists of a square weave of fiberglass threads; therefore it is very pourous and would allow rod bond to easily penetrate through to the rod blank. I have been considering this, but thought I would try to tap into the experience of others first. Anay thoughts would be appreciated. Clinton Re: Fibatape

If you do a search you will find out that this has been recommended many many times, and yes it does work great. Re: Fibatape

Have you tried the polyurethane arbors yet? If not you might wish to....or at least I like them. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: Fibatape

The arbors are very easy to use. I would think easier then the tape and probably lighter Bill - willierods.com Re: Fibatape

the only time I use the mesh tape anymore is when the fit of the seat to the blank is pretty close. No more that 2 or 3 wraps. Other than that a foam arbor is the way I roll. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
