I was reading static guide placement and it occurred to me that this probably gives you the best placement. Is that true? Also, Is it also possible that you might need lessa number guides than most guide spacing charts recommend when you use this method?
Thanks Re: static guide placement

Yes and yes. But still nothing is written in stone. Things can be customized depending on blank, guides being used, many things. As you play with it you will see. . Bill - willierods.com Re: static guide placement

You may find out on a blank you need more guides, you never know till you do the testing. Re: static guide placement

Bruce,
All of the recommended guide charts are a starting point. If you use the recommended chart, the rod will certainly work just fine. But you may find that the use of a different spacing or guide type and or style may work better for you and your client for a given purpose. Roger Re: static guide placement

The number of guides will be based on the size of the guides distance off the blank more during the static testing. Re: static guide placement

Static guide placement for "load" is the best way to go for sure.
For casting distance/accuracy, you might need a different system. Paul. I fish therefore I am. www.hookeduprods.com Re: static guide placement
