Hello Every one:
I'm working on a spiral wrap rod for a friend, I am doing underwraps on all the guides with Gudebrod Nylon thread. My question is will applying a coat of CP be enough before I wrap the guides or should I add the CP, then apply a thin coat of epoxy before putting the guides on ??? Thanks for your help as always. It wil be enough. However, a thin layer of epoxy won't hurt at all unless this a lighter type rod.

Hi Tom:
Thanks for the info, this will be a heavy actiion boat road used up East here in the New York area. So just to be on the safe side. I will heed the advice and apply a small amount just in case. As always appreciate the help. Fernando Torres Re: Is CP enough ?

I always add a thin layer of epoxy. Just my preferred method.

Why do the folks that do apply epoxy to the underwraps - apply it?

So it has a coat of some thing to give a better surface to wrap on. I also use Permagloss . harder surface. Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
