Fly rod guide

Gentlemen, I need some help finding a fly rod guide that goes on an old glass rod. The guide is a double foot probably chrome with a ring size measuring 6.80 mm on the outside of the ring and measuring around 10.20 mm for the height. I have tried looking on the sponsor's websites but with no luck.
Thanks for the help
Terry

Can you post a picture of it? It would help to see what you are trying to replace.

Sorry Mike, I don't have a digital camera. All I can tell you is that it's a freshwater fly rod.

Well without a picture to see of it, it will be diffcult to suggest anything, You have what brand of rod it is, that might help with figuring it out.

Hi Terry
How old is this rod? If it was made in the 1960s or early 1970s, there were very few guide makers then. Mildrum, Varmac, Allyn (I/m not sure of this spelling), and I think Perfection made guides were the only ones I remember selling guides. I'm pretty certain that Gene Bullard did as well. From that era, guides were mostly hard chrome plated steel. There were also some tungsten carbide with e frame welded or soldered to the ring. E. J. Hille ( Pennsylvania) offered chromium carbide as well. You mightbe able to procure some of these guides from a supplier that makes a habit of buying up old fishing tackle. One of our sponsors a few years ago had such a supply. His name was Neal's Custom Fishing Rods. Good luck.

Thanks Michael, I don't know how old this rod is. A friend of mine bought it at a garage sale and wanted me to find a missing guide to tie on it. I'm sure you are right about the guide being chrome plated. There is nothing impressive about these guides other than I can't seem to come up with one.

Do you or a friend have a cell phone with a camera? Send the picture to your email address and then post it.
