Round Cork or EVA Without Holes?

I've looked through several catalogs and sponsor websites and haven't found anyone that sells plain cork or EVA segments that do not have holes in them. I've found composite cork and rubber without holes, but not plain cork or EVA, and I'd rather not have to make my own out of cork strips if I can avoid it.
About 1 1/4" dia. and half inch long pieces are what I'm looking for. Any ideas? Thanks. Dan Re: Round Cork or EVA Without Holes?

I've got square blocks of EVA about 2x2 in length, which you can make your own butt caps out of quite easily. Morris made one at teh ICRBE out of a piece of black EVA this past weekend in about 5 minutes in front of 10 people. Re: Round Cork or EVA Without Holes?

I use hole saws that I bought at Ace Hardware that fit into my drill press to punch out a round EVA piece for a butt cap or fighting butt on fly rods out of square blocks of EVA. You can get them in all kind of sizes and they cut out about a 2" cylinder. The center drill bit is adjusted with an allen wrench and i can move the bit to leave a hole or not. get a thin-wall 1/4" I.D. tube at a hardware or hobby store. punch out some plugs. Little wood glue and some sanding and you'll never know they were there. Regards, -Justin Re: Round Cork or EVA Without Holes?

Justin,
In addition to your excellent comment you can pick up a set of inexpensive plug cutters. It is nice to have a set on hand to allow you to cut various sized plugs for different projects. [www.harborfreight.com] Take care Roger Re: Round Cork or EVA Without Holes?

Thanks Roger!
The cork pieces are for a prototype that I have mind, and if it works, the plug cutters will help a lot to speed up the process. Dan Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
