St. Croix has a number of shorter, UL blanks in both SCII and SCIII. I've built on most of the blanks from the 4'6" to the 6' in UL and they are very nice blanks. They are all F, not XF. However, that can easily be remedied by extending a 5' or 5'6" to 6'.

I second the SCIII utra light and light actions. I prefer the lights over the ultra lights. Seem to be more of a tip flex.

Our CB661 has an extra fast tip. It comes in 6'6 but cutting off the bottom 8 inches is no big deal. If you want, I'd even cut it for you and ship it to the distributor of your choice. Jon Re: look for ultra light blank

John,
As Jon said, chopping the blank of a rod is no big deal. When you are looking for a fast action rod, the deal is the rod tip. Don't trim from the tip, or you will ruin the rod. The same thing is true about extending a rod. If you have - say an 8 inch rear grip, it is not a big issue to extend a rod by 6-8 inches since all of the extension will be hidden in the butt of the rod. You will still have the same tip action of the rod - whether you trim from the butt, or extend the butt of the rod. Take care Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
