I'm having a friend mill me some aluminum end caps like you would find on something like the shimano rods. I'm trying to find a rubber trim band and can't find anything other than o-rings. Really need something that is flat on one side and rounded on the other. any help would be appreciated. Regards, -Justin Re: end caps - rubber trim

Are you talking about a winding check??? The rubber or viynl/rubber ones are flat on one side and rounded on the other. Kinda like an oring that has been sliced in half.
If that is what you are looking for any of the sponsors on the left that deal with rod building components has them. The link below to Acid rod has them. Scroll down, right side of the page. [] Mike Re: end caps - rubber trim

Not that mike - take a look at the metal ring on the butt of the crucial
[ep.yimg.com] its a metal disk, with a rubber trim ring around the edge. I'm having the disk/post machined for next to nothing, but i have to have him machine the groove in it so i can fit some sort of rubber trim piece on it so the butt isn't pure aluminum. I can find o-rings that fit the bill, but really need like half of a grommot or gasket where the one side is flat like a washer, but the other is rounded like an o-ring. Justin, take a look at "lip seals" and "wiper rings". You might be able to come up with something. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
