Bill, check out the Batson line of spey blanks. Great price point and the spey casters that I have built them for say they love them. Re: spey rod blanks

Bill, H&H has Rainshadow blanks & kits that are from Batson ( I believe this is what Jeff is talking about) and they are a sponsor SORRY THEY WERE A COUPLE WEEKS AGO Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/30/2009 05:55PM by Don Lukehart. Re: spey rod blanks

Batson has a couple of options - not all equal. The rule of thumb with them seems to be stay under 13', after that it goes downhill a bit.
The forecast 11'6" 6/7 is reportedly amazing, followed closely by the 12'6" 7/8. You will not find a better price to performance here. I've heard mixed reviews on the rainshadow spey but some like them. Before you buy, check out what Bob Meiser has (sponser over there <----). Meiser IS design in the two-hander world. It seems like every time something really cool comes out (like switch rods, and now transformers) it is from his shop. He is extremely easy to deal with, knowledgeable, and the prices are amazingly reasonable. Plus, while you are looking at his website, you can get some great ideas for making fishable works of art. H&H hasn't been a sponsor here in over a year, but no matter, they're still good people. If you decide on a Batson blanks there are plenty of other sponsors here that carry them.

I second Mr Mieser, if you are looking for a spey blank look no further than his shop! Re: spey rod blanks

Batson gets my vote...Everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Especially....if you are on a budget. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
