Clemens bed section

Hey guys just wondering if anyone out there has an extra section of a clemens bed. Cut ones would work also, I have already Tried Dick French, he is out of them. I know its a long shot, but I only have 2 sections and mainly build surf rods. I find myself having to try and position my thread carraige at odd angles on long one piece rods to get it to work. I can use the renzetti bed pieces but they are 2mm wider and the thread carraige wont roll across the seams that way. I may end up having to use the renzetti, but figured I would try here first

Older Renzetti beds will fit. Those made in the last 5 years or so will not (Andy changed the width back around 2003, I think).

Here's another idea - set the end section so that there are 2 hold downs. Set them snug, but not tight. Then, slide that section out to the length needed to support the end of the rod. When done, slide it back the other way. Just like opening and closing a drawer.

Just make sure the hold downs are sufficiently spaced so that you have good support when the section is slid out to accommodate the rod length. You may have to use 3, depending on how far you need to go.

I have a Clemens wrapper and use a two year old Renzetti extension with no problems. Yes the bed is wider than the Clemens at the bottom but the top is the same width and the thread carriage works just fine on it as well as across the joint between the two.
