Does anyone have small tube - size 2.0, 2.5, or 3.0 - tip tops for ice rods other than the fly style at Jann's for this season?
Thanks, Marc Re: Ice Rod Tops - any suppliers have them?

Marc,
Just an idea that I have been using for the last couple of years is to simply use an overwrap on the tip with as many layers of thread as necessary to allow a size 4 tip to fit nicely on the blank. There is a pretty large selection of size 4 tips in various ring sizes. I typically use size A thread and find that a wrap up and back- two layers is generally about right to allow a size 2.5 blank to fit nicely into a size 4 tip. I normally use about a 2 inch tip wrap anyway, so it is a simple matter to put the wrap on the tip, before adding the tip rather than after. Actually, I find that the use of the thread wrap on the tip actually makes the tip adhere better to the blank with hot melt glue. Give it a try. I think you will like the look and ease of application. Good luck Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
