Interested in perhaps carpooling with someone (my car or yours) and splitting expenses, possible hotel. First time going to expo. If not, any suggestions on decent, cheap hotels, etc? I live in southern CT. Thanks

There are several hotels listed on the official event website - [www.rodexpo.com]

Look under "lodging" for a list of a few very close to the Expo - walking distance. The Econolodge is nice, nothing fancy, but nice. It's about 3 blocks from the Showplace.

For about $200, you can take Amtrak from any of the Southern CT stations right into High Point ... one change in NYC or DC. The train stop in High Point is right across the street from the Expo Center and the main hotel. No rental car or taxi cab needed AND it is a much more relaxing trip when all you need to do is bring a book to read between naps.

BTW, the rate that Tom has negotiated at the main hotel is really tough to beat ... especially since you can walk right out the backdoor, cross the street and be at the show. FYI, all the late owls hangout there and talk shop.

Hope to see you there.
