RodMaker Magazine Special Edition CD #2, will be delivered this coming Friday. It deals with building specific rod types including, but not limited to:

Ultra-Light Rods
Stand-Up Rods
Two Handed Rods
Musky Rods
Great Lakes Trolling Rods
Bass Revolver Rods
No-Foregrip Rods
Live Bait Rods
Surf Rods
River Bass Rods
Spiral Wrapped Rods
Making Wooden Rods
And Assorted/Related Articles On Task Specific Construction.

It ended up being a much larger volume than I had originally intended, consisting of nearly 80 pages total. There are 16 chapters in all.

I am having 250 copies produced. They will be offered here first and are available by mail order only for the time being. I will list them on the website in about 2 weeks once I see how many are left. In the meantime, they are $29.95 ppd, by check or money order to RodMaker, PO Box 1322, High Point, NC 27261. I will accept PayPal orders (remit to [email protected]) but please remember to include your address and specify that you want Special Edition #2 in the comments box. I expect to start shipping this edition within 10 days, or less.

And yes, I'll toss in one of the International Custom Rod Building Symbols with each order. I know somebody will ask.

Tom,
Are these just reprints of past rm articles put into one reference? I understand much of this has been discussed in articles but is this both new and past material?

On the "making wooden rods" article, what type wooden rods does that specific article deal with?

The technique is applicable to any rod type and harkens back to the days when all rods were made from materials such as Western Red Cedar.

Tom, is it available only in the U.S. or can you ship outside, too?

Thanks for clarifying that. I'm just wondering if it is possible for U.S.-based online retailers to sell the magazine and your CDs on a per issue basis. You know, so that you personally don't have to deal with shipping to outside the U.S. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for the magazine/CD plus shipping.

Yes they can. Anyone can buy the magazine and resell it if they wish, but that's something you'll have to contact the dealers about.

I think I'll ask the retailers from whom I buy my rod building stuff if they'll consider doing it. Thanks.

For hard copies I would have to offset the printing set up so those would run you about $100 each. I don't think the market is there for something that steep, thus the CD version. A single magazine issue costs me about $35,000 while doing this on CD is just a fraction of that amount.
