I just got off a boat that had some White Marlin custom rods on it. The rods had slick butts on them, but were not like the AMTAK or Batson style with the trim riings. They weren't the Stuart Slick Butts either and were definitely not Aluminum. The rods were made by T. Greene from Lighthouse Point, FL.
These were black, had a hard feel to them, but where the top of the butt meets the reel seat, the butt was rounded over. Any clue who makes these kind of butts and where are they available? Thanks Re: Slick Butt Types

Probably like the ones used on Star rods...
Stuart does make a nice one piece thru handle out of aluminum... Re: Slick Butt Types

Andrew
those are the one's! I searched for STAR Rods and found a pic of them. they are calling them a Powerbutt. Anyone know where I can get some of these like the 2 on the far right? [www.rodbuilding.org] Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
