Thomas,
I believe that's one of the "Bass Pro Shop" house-brand rods. Don't know where the blank is made or by whom.

Sorry,
Gene

Gene,
I was aware that the gentleman had got the rod at BPS and actually did recognize it as such when he showed it to me. I sort of suprised myself that I even knew it was a Bass Pro rod before he told me. Do you possibly have a suggestion for a replacement?

By the way..... I normally don't do much with fly rods and my experience with them is very limited.. This is a good friend and that is the only reason that I am even pursuing the matter any further.

as always
Thanks
Tom

BPS lists that model as a med action IM7 blank. Judging by the price It's not their top of the line and many of the reviews state problems with breakage. If he likes the action I'd look for something similar in a quality blank from one of the sponsors.

Thomas,
After reviewing my catalogs, most of the 9' 7 weight 4-piece blanks are over $100.
Probably much better then a white river.
TFO and PacBay both have blanks.
You might try a Rainshadow F907-4 @ $54 . This may be comparable to the White River.
My experience is these blanks cast true to weight.

Gene,
I noticed the same thing with the price point of those particular blanks. I will let him know what he is looking at and we can go from there.

thanks for the help.
