We are searching for a G. Loomis IM6 Mega F10812 (12-13 line weight) rod blank, no longer produced, which we know was a production item in the early 1990’s. It is a two-piece 9 foot blank, we believe designed for tarpon.

We find this blank, when cut back to just under 9 feet, to be ideal for use as a “Tyee Pool” trolling rod. Our application is for use in the Tyee Pool at Campbell River, British Columbia where it is combined with a single action reels and fished from the clinker style row boats. This rod has just the right amount of tip sensitivity and beef in the body for this application which requires use of a plug or spoon only from a rowed boat. The target species is 30 plus pound Chinook or King . (http://www.tyeeclub.org/ ). The rod must have enough strength to sustain a powerful strike and the ability to pin a large hook into a fish up to 60-70 pounds, using 25# test monofilament.

Any assistance you could provide in locating a small supply of this blank would be very much appreciated.

As an alternative, if you feel there is a currently produced product which is as close to identical to this product as possible in character, we would appreciate being advised .

I know you typed IM6 in your statement. Would an IMX suffice? I know for a fact that the above blank you described also came in an IMX as well; I was on the G.Loomis Pro-Staff from 1993-1998 and remember the IMX's.

Might try the IM6 blanks that Gary Loomis is developing at North Fork Composites.

If I can remeber right the SA 1084 is the same blank. I built several rods with that blank.That may increase your chances of finding one.

I have a Mega F10810/11 IMX. That's about as close as I can come.
