After several request in regards to our Lure ratings on the new SUR( Rainshadow Surf Blanks) series. We asked Nick Meyer to run a full test on our blanks to come up with his professional advice on how he would rate them. After several months he did just that. If some of you do not know who Nick Meyer is, well you could check out one of his web sites at [www.nickaway.com] or [breakawayusa.com] and take a look at a few of his Books and DVD's. Nick is one of the most talented Tournament Surf Casters and instructors that we personally know, so this is why we asked for his advice on the ratings.



Attached is directly from Nick and has not been altered in any way. He did explained that his Max ratings were not tested with any heavier weight than 8 ounces and that our max rating listed in our Catalog if greater than his findings are fine and believes that the rods will not fail. He also said that the sweet spot for each blank is half way in-between his listing. He also said that his ounce ratings maximum and minimum are for optimum casting distances for the blank tested.



Batson understands that lure ratings are variable depending on the person casting and that our current listings were tested in house and as accurate as we felt they were but we are also open for others to list there findings as well. Batson Enterprises has not changed there ratings at this point but may consider doing so in the future.
