Preformed cork grips

Seems a lot of distributors have pre-formed cork grips on sale for up to 50% off. I've noticed however, that individual cork rings have sky-rocketed to, in some places, 3X what they were just a year or two ago. How is it then that pre-formed grips are discounted so much? Seems it would be the opposite. Maybe some marketing guys could ring in on what's up. Reckon the discounted grips are in really bad shape? I usually find them very usable by buying the longer ones and turning/cutting them down to suit my situation.

They're not in bad shape at all. They are in good supply and thus are being sold for a little less these days.

I've used them a fair amount lately. Nothing wrong with saving some money when you can.
