i am doing a Throop Tiger and have used ncp thread for the base wrap.after 1 or 2 coats of finish,i will be using regular thread on top of my base.can i apply cp to that thread without any ill effects.do i need to apply the cp to both threads and then take the sacrificial out?thanks, jim.

I would remove the sacrificial spacing thread first, and then apply the CP.

No doubt you can do it prior, but it may cause the top thread to shift or move when you remove the sacrificial thread which can then upset the effect a bit.

Inconsistent, non-parallel threads are your friend on the bottom layer, but not on the top.

The only issue to be concerned with is that you do not move the the thread when applying
the CP. Follow the suggestions in the article for "setting" that thread and you shouldn't
have any problems.
