Hi Folks,
Response has been great to our class offerings. Our September 14-19 class is completely full, and we appreciate the great interest. Because response has been so good, we're opening another class November 16-21. If you're interested, let us know soon since this class is likely to fill quickly as well. In addition to classes already mentioned here, Bob Nunley and I are offering two additional classes scheduled around the Southern (Bamboo) Rodmakers Gathering (SRG) to be held in Mountain Home, Arkansas on October 22-24. First, a few days before SRG, from October 19-21, we will host a bamboo blank making class. We'll make a two piece, single tipped bamboo blank for $995 and will also pay your registration fees to the SRG. Six spaces are available. Following SRG on October 26-28, we'll host another class that we believe to be the first of its kind. We're calling it "Bamboo Rod Making 201." In the 201 class we'll cover some topics that are beyond the basics of bamboo rod making. The specific curriculum will be designed to meet the needs of the participants. Possible areas of instruction include Taper Design, Advanced Wrapping techniques, Turning Reel Seats and Cork Grips, Installing Stepped Ferrules, Pinning Ferrules, Polishing Varnish and many more. Four spots are still open. A third class we are offering focuses on restoring older bamboo rods. Contact me or Bob for further information on any of these classes. Our contact information can be found through the www.bamboorodschool link below. Harry Harry Boyd Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
