Looking for any info on blanks , rod length, guides, etc on making a pitch bait rod for White Marlin here in the northeast. Over the last couple of seasons we have had Whites come up into our trolling spread while tuna fishing so I am lloking to have a pitch bait rod at the ready this season. Looking for any info both positive & negative on building a rod for this application.
Thanks in advance for any help. Tom Re: White Marlin Pitch Bait Rod

I used a Calstar GF700M (7ft) rated between 20-50lb. and trimmed it to 6'6. Added some Fuji CHBNG guides and a slick butt and have no complaints.
The GF600M is the 6ft version. I'm sure others will chime in. Re: White Marlin Pitch Bait Rod

I use the same, but leave them at 7' inless the customer wants a shorter rod, spiral wrap it with a 10-12" forgrip. Re: White Marlin Pitch Bait Rod
