I just finished a tiger wrap with metallic black and metallic silver under wrap and cobalt blue on top. It looks pretty good to me, I got a cool pattern/design and really helped shift a little weight to the grip area of the rod.
Thanks to all the people that developed this technique. I did one with red and white under and red on top, the detail came out but you have to look for it. I should've used black and white under wraps. Re: Tiger Wrap

Another method for the Tiger wrap uses 3 layers of thread...
Regular Thread - This method does not use NCP and allows a greater spectrum of colors to be used. No color preserver required. 1st layer - Metallic ( color depends on what color your next layers are. ) 2nd layer - Dark and light threads in the opposite direction of the first layer, with no epoxy between the first and second layers Epoxy on second layer At this point, you will already see the effect coming through because the thread will be transparent. ( like you would do for a candy effect ) 3rd layer - reverse your direction once again, remove your sacrificial thread and epoxy as normal. This method will give you a little more depth and a unique look to your tiger wraps. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/19/2009 02:34PM by cary power. Re: Tiger Wrap

I think you mean the thread is transparent not opaque. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
