Yes, i just did it today. I closed my toolbox on one of my loomis rods. instant 2 piece. LOL Im sure that you can add ferrules after cutting, but i have never done this and cant offer any advice. somebody here will walk you through it though im sure.

Go to the Library and look up broken rod repair by Ralph OQuinn. the principle is the same

The process is called an oversleeve. I guess you can google that or search here if you needed more that whats in the lib.

That information was contained in RodMaker Magazine some time ago. I'd have to go back and look up the volume and issue number. It can certainly be done very well and very effectively. But it requires careful planning and operation on your part.

Yes you can do it! You can also just buy a two piece model and save yourself the trouble. If you are just starting out I think I would say to just buy a two piece and be done with it.
