Plating on fly guides

I'm in the middle of prepping some TiCH DF wire guides, and the plating seems to be flaking off. Are these guides ok to use?
It only seems to be flaking off on the feet (of course I'm not prepping the rest of the guide). Will this be an issue in the future, say rust or additional flaking? Thanks in advance.

When you dress the feet you're going through the plating and if you catch an edge it will chip and peel. Same thing happens with many of the plated roller guides, only worse. Nature of the beast I'm afraid.

If the only bare spots are on the feet which will be covered by thread and finish, there should be no issues. Just take care not to let any of that plating flake or peel up past the wrapping area.
