I have a guy who is wanting some rods made like the european carp rods, I posted a link to a complet rod like his is looking for. Does anyone have a clue where to get blanks like these? I know that CTS has a carp blank but he is not wanting to spend that much. This is for a friend who is going to build them himself. thanks for any help

Chuck

Try Harrison in the UK. They have a full line of carp blanks. I have seen and fished with most factory carp rods made over here. One thing I find strange is the small number of guides wrapped on the rod. For example a 12 foot 2.75 lb test curve with 6 guides. Usually guides are oversized and most double foot. I would think your friend could do a far better job static testing and going for a micro or concept system on a blank like this. I have never built on a carp blank myself but if I do I would not build to what a common set up is here. I really dont like it.

Might try contacting Mark Crouse as well. He carries a lot of those type blanks in stock.

MArk Crouse specializes in this type of fishing, and has a wide arrray of blanks to chose at several price points. I've seena few of them built by a couple of guys (Mike J & Capt Nail), as some of them are great for North East SW fishing from teh beach. SOme of the carbon fiber blanks MArk carrie are sick.

Harrison is one of the best factory for carp blanks, many big carp name make their rods line with this blank (solar, bruce ashby, big carp). I have personally mounted some blanks of this name, and I can say that it is very very good quality ( I have collaborated in the past for some years, with Custombuild cosidered as the best factory in the world for carp blanks, so I know something on this argument). You can find it at guidesnblanks.
