I just completed my first wrap, put on the color preserver and the threads really darkened up, the wrap looked beautiful without color preserver, now it just looks ok. if i do not put any color preserve on does anyone know how long it will last before it fades? or any ideas to keep the color true? Without CP, the thread will turn translucent and very dark. When you put your finish on there, it will brighten back up a bit.
Keep in mind, that Maderia is not specialty rod wrapping thread. It will work, but it's not made for this task. ............. Re: Mediera thread and flexcoat color preserve

You'll still need a color preserver with the Madeira. All thread will get a shade or two darker with CP, but it shouldn't be so pronounced that your color scheme is ruined. I always try to go to a lighter shade than I think I really want with the Madeira and with so many to chose from it works out well. Re: Mediera thread and flexcoat color preserve
