Spiral wrapped micros

I am wanting to spiral wrap with all micros. I set them up, and it looks like I will need one more guide than I figured for the transtion because of the the guide height.(or lack there of) Has any one tried a spiral with all micros? Any problems? I did a search but couldn't find anything to answer this. Thanks for your responses.

Joey,
I spiral with a 6dbl ( 8dbl on frog/flip rods) 5sgl, 4sgl, then 3's to the tip. Works for me, guide height has not been an issue. I am using a revolver style spiral, which are you using?

Joey;
I would follow Scott's advice I did some testing long time ago and found that I lost some distance using all Micros on a spiral wrap. I would provide a link to the posts, but the info was wiped out when the site was hacked last year.

The way I do mine is a simple spiral, 6DF stripper, 3 bumper, 5 first 180º, 3’s the rest of the way to the top. This has worked very well for me, although I know that it is slightly different from what you hear when discussing simple spirals.

Scott, I am using a simple spiral. It seemed I was going to have to add one more in transtion or put them closer together to keep the line from laying on the blank as much. I didn't know if there was enough torque that the lil fellers might twist sidways when the rod was under load. Thank you Steve, I wil do some testing of my own because I don't want to lose much casting distance. Thank you for your response as well Mike. Lots of ideas. I guess I'll just play with it a little more and see what combination I can come up.

Joey,

Something is amiss - on a Simple Spiral you have no transition guides and there should never be any side load on the Bumper Guide.
