I am building a salt water rod for my grandson. It will have a rubber/vinyl butt cap with a recess on the end about 3/16" deep and 3/4" wide. I plan to print out a decal or logo on white decal paper , spray the decal with Krylon fixatif or a similiar sealer , glue it to the bottom of the recess and fill in the balance of the recess with casting resin or thread wrapping epoxe.
Do you think this procedure will work? Will the epoxe adhere to the butt cap and not fall out? Any input or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you, Tom Re: Will This Technique Work ?

Yes it will work fine! Many builders place all sorts if items in the but that way. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Will This Technique Work ?

And if you are worried that it won't bind you can always drill vertical holes in the but cap so that the epoxy can actually set up inside of little holes around the circumfrence of the cap. But, if Mike says it will work, I have absolutely no doubt that it will.
