I have used for my last spinning rod the flex coat lite formula finish. I have applied a first hand and later around 24 hours I have applied the second. The result has been an opaque finish and not perfectly shiny. Can someone help to understand me what it has happened? Re: Flex Coat finish problems

Sounds like incomplete mixing. What does the finish in your mixing cup look like?

Marco,
Where the finish was applied to the blank opaque also or is it just where it is on the threads? Bill Ohio Rod Builders Canton, Ohio Re: Flex Coat finish problems

If the mix in the cup is clear, then it has something to do with the tool you applied it with, or something that interacted with the finish from the previous application.
Did you use a brush or a spatula? If a brush, I'm going to toss out a possibility. Something was in your brush that dulled your finish. Soap, hard water, etc. I don't know, but it's something to look at. Whatever it was, it happened between your mixing cup and rod wraps. That narrows things down considerably. .................... Bill,
I have applied the finish on the thread, before I have used a CP on it. Marco Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
