Scheduled for building his winter is a live bait rod for shallow water fluking from my small CC in LIS. Need a fairly springy tip to impart the right "bounce & wiggle" to the bucktail/spearing combo that seems to be the key to success in our favorite fluke spots. I've read Tom's article in Rodbuilder mag and seen so many recommendations for the Seeker CLB 70* -70*'s from Tom & others that I had pretty much decided on one one of those blanks. I have been built and fished other Seeker composite blanks in the past and like them a great deal. All seemed settled, UNTIL ......., I saw the Super Seeker CLBF 70*'s !!
I haven't had the opportunity to handle any of these blanks since none of my local B&T shops handle rod building components. I will order from one of the on-line sponsors here on the board but wonder if anyone could comment on what advantage the new CLB Super Seekers have over the previous generation blank.

I just went to my inventory I have a SS CLBF706 but no CLBF706 E-glass to compare so I'll give you a compare on a CLB804 and a SS CLB804 which I have in front of me. I have fished and built a bunch of these SS for me and family so I'm familiar with them as well. The Supers seem to have a softer tip then the E-glass and it might be me but they also seem to power up stronger or the power comes in faster with the SS even though it's a softer tip. When I live bait with these rods they seem to have be more sensitive. I can feel every move the bait makes, the SS transmits the vibrations better. I only have a built CLB804 E-glass that I use the rest are SS and I prefer the SS, but I wouldn't throw either one over board!

Thanks for the quick review. Sounds like the softer tip of the SS may be what I'm looking for. I suspect Tom may chime in here so I'll hold out for a second (others?) opinion(s).
