Announcement: New U-40 Adhesive - "Quik-Bond"
Posted by: Dan Metcalf (---.sttlwa.dsl-w.verizon.net)
Date: August 13, 2008 01:40PM

Today we are proud to introduce our new fast curing version of Rod Bond.
The label name is: ¡§Quik-Bond¡¨.

Quik-Bond has all the same features and benefits you have come to know and love about Rod Bond, such as:

„« Easy to mix, very forgiving.
„« Stays where you put it without dripping and running.
„« Bonds almost any material to any material, i.e. cork, metal, wood, graphite, fiberglass, eva, etc.
„« Can be used for bonding cork rings, cork handles, eva handles, reel seats, butt caps, ferrules, winding checks, hosels, guide tips and on and on. Feel free to use your imagination.
„« Can be molded, drilled, sanded, tapped, colored, etc.
„« Has a knack for being a rod builder¡¦s best friend.

Quik-Bond adds yet one more helpful feature:

„« Begins setting up in about 15 minutes at 70 F and about 10 minutes at 90 F. In less than one hour bonded parts can be handled without fear. This saves you time when you need it without sacrificing any of the benefits you depend on of the original Rod Bond.

Quik-Bond¡¦s three kit sizes: 2oz, 4oz and 8oz.

Many distributors already have a stock of "Quik-Bond" available for you.

If you have any questions you can contact us:

I tried it for the first time last night and was very easy to work with. I used it to glue my shims into the reel seats to save me some time. The product did get tacky in fifteen minutes but I could not ream the shims out for an hour. This is not a problem but just in case some of you wondered actual bond time for me was an hour as Dan explained. I'm new to using quick set epoxy because I have always used the original Rod Bond so learning curve for me. I really loved working with this new product and I will be using it for now on. Thank you Trondak for introducing another fine product. Batson now has this in stock as well.

Five minute style makes me nervous! But ten to fifteen minutes to set and an hour to cure is about right. Can glue up everything the same day and get right to work instead of having to wait overnight.

Karry,

Thanks for the comments regarding Quik-Bond! It was great to hear that it was doing a good job for you. Perhaps it will serve the needs of custom rod builders as much as Rod Bond.

This year I am just beginning to learn to catch bass on a fly since the trout don't bite. Having fun.

Say hi to all,
